On May 2nd and 3rd, the Rangers agreed to terms with two undrafted free-agent forwards:
Michael Lindqvist:

Lindqvist, the 23 year-old winger, played 33 games with Färjestad BK of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) this season. He netted 20 goals, and added 14 assists for a total of 34 points. Lindqvist ranked second in the SHL with 10 power-play goals, and averaged over a point a game (1.03).
Although I do not feel he is NHL ready at this stage in his career, eventually, he can be a great addition to the team and provide some secondary scoring which the Rangers lacked in the 2017-18 season.
Ville Meskanen

In 48 games with IIves of the Liiga (Finnish Pro League), Meskanen scored 24 goals and added 20 assists for a total of 48 points.
Meskanen is another low-risk high reward signing. He is a winger who has a good shot and can provide depth scoring.
In a league where fourth-line grinders are disappearing, it is good to stock up on forwards who can provide secondary scoring, and this is exactly what the Rangers have done with these two signings. Personally, I think Lindqvist has a higher ceiling, but both of these players will most likely not make an immediate impact on next season’s Ranger team. However, there is no downside to signing prospects, and I hope the Rangers continue to do so!
I agree that it is good to stock up on forwards who can provide secondary scoring. In today’s NHL you must keep adding assets.
